THE LAST SEASON (2003) - 72 min
Facade of Memorial Stadium being demolished

Co-directed by Joseph Mathew and Charles Cohen, The Last Season-The Life and Demolition of Memorial Stadium, is a feature documentary that follows the demolition of the Baltimore landmark. Generations of Baltimoreans came to Memorial Stadium to watch their beloved Orioles and legendary Colts win championships and lose heartbreakers. It also was a place where family history intertwined with sporting lore.

The film captures the community's reaction to the demolition, the political battle between preservationists and developers interspersed with an unforgettable cast of Baltimore characters and sports legends. One moment the Last Season plays like a music video, the next it bristles with the grit of guerilla journalism. The Last Season is above all a quirky look at a city trying to reconcile its blue-collar past with transformation and change.

The film premiered at the 2002 Maryland Film Festival to sold-out audiences.
